There was excitement over the weekend as thousands of people who had traveled long distances from the three Akyem states-Abuakwa, Bosome and Kotoku- gathered at Okyeman’s capital Kyebi.
The group converged at Kyebi Newtown for a health walk and marched through the principal streets of Kyebi donning the brightly colored shirts of the great elephant party. Onlookers watched in amazement as the group chanted patriotic songs with extraordinary excitement; whilst dancing to blasting sounds of praises.
Chairman for the occasion, Mr. Fiifi Ofori-Atta spoke at length in support of Government flagship policies and how they have helped relieve Ghanaians of their burdens. He reiterated the need to break the eight year term and continue the good works of Nana Akuffo –Addo.
In an interview with afropolitanonline.com, Mr. Kofi Adinkra the convener of the meeting revealed that some appreciable number of Akyem NPP supporters have decided to come together to support the presidential candidature bid of Alan Kyeremanteng and gave the name of the group as AKYEM FOR ALAN.
Mr. Adinkra underscored the need to vote for Alan Kyeremanteng to lead the NPP into the 2024 General elections. He threw light on the traits of Mr. Kyeremanteng-humility, kindness, hard work, visionary, loyalty etc. He further hinted that the uniqueness of Alan Kyeremanteng’s role in the industrialization programs of NPP 2001-2008, 2017-2024 Governments say loads about his prowess as a man who is abreast of industrialization; one who can lead Ghana and create jobs for the teeming unemployed youth.
Mr. Kwadwo Korankye, an executive member of the group AKYEM FOR ALAN revealed that he’s confident that Alan Kyeremanteng will emerge the party’s choice for Presidential Candidate because he stands tall among his contemporaries in the race.
