The New Patriotic Party’s upcoming Presidential candidate election is gradually gaining steam. The key personalities who have been predicted to contest for the position of the presidential candidate of the Great Elephant Party have traversed the towns, cities and the countryside of Ghana to garner support for their candidature.

In the evening of 10th January 2023, the soft spoken, affable and distinguished former Trade and Industry Minister, Alan Kyeremanteng, spoke to Ghanaians in a live broadcast and made known to his party faithful of his resolves to seek their mandate to lead them into 2024 General Elections.

The Trade and Industry icon raised the bar in a way which is quite unusual of a yet to be elected leader of any political Party in Ghana by touching on how he would seek to transform Ghana into an oasis of development in a ten(10) point economic plan:

  1. A Strong Macroeconomic Environment
  2. A New Agricultural Revolution (NAR) for Ghana
  3. Industrial Transformation
  4. Accelerated Infrastructure Development
  5. Digital Mainstreaming:
  6. Energy Security and Diversification
  7. Decarbonization and Climate Resilience
  8. National Security and Defence Optimization
  9. Downsizing Government
  10. Strategic Engagement with the International Community.

Alan Kyeremanteng who has been predicted to win the elections in its first round by some party stalwarts, pledged to make extensive expositions of the key points as shown above in the coming days in a TV and RADIO program dubbed ALAN K PRIME TIME which would also be the first of its kind in Ghana.

Other candidates would definitely pour out their strategies and visions for the party in the coming days. However, Alan Kyeremanteng who has participated in the New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate race since 2007 through to 2014 is more familiar with the terrain with considerable experience and thus has competitive and comparative advantage over his  compatriots. A meeting is yet to be held to determine the date for the election on 31 January 2023. The dice has been cast and is predicted to favor Alan Kyeremanteng.
