The election of Fiifi Kwetey and Johnson Asiedu Nketia as National Democratic Congress’ Secretary and Chairman respectively at the Party’s just ended National Congress has sent some frightening waves across the political space.
Pollsters could not foresee Fiifi Kwetey former Propaganda Secretary of the NDC whose efforts were instrumental in galvanizing support for the NDC during the 2008 elections that saw Professor Evan Atta Mills elected as President of the Republic of Ghana emerging as the secretary in a hotly contested election.
Now, the famous spinmeister known for spewing cleverly concocted lies is at post and some NPP faithful have begun shaking as they cannot fathom what strategy Fiifi Kwetey would be using this time around.
Kennedy Agyapong, MP for Assin central, during a visit to NPP headquarters on Tuesday 20th December 2022, upon sensing the panic the election of the Fiifi Kwetey and Asiedu Nketia has caused, among some NPP faithful advised the NPP executives not to waste their time on Fiifi Kwetey and Asiedu Nketia.
Stressing on the need to strengthen the party, Mr. Agyapong hinted: “The closeness of the party and government is important for ensuring unity because it creates the opportunity for government and other officials interact and work together in the implementation of programs and policies”.
Kennedy Agyapong who has resolved to contest the flagbearer position of the NPP was at the party’s headquarters to familiarize himself with the national executives.
