The # fix the country movement has taken the country by storm. Within minutes of launching the campaign, it swept to every part of the nation including the countryside like fires in the harmattan.
Videos of celebrities and ordinary Ghanaians venting their anger and frustration about the economic downturn of the country on the poor governance of the ruling NPP government have since hit the internet and have been viewed by almost a million pair of eyes.
Government communicators across the country have since strategize to hush the # fix the country movement campaignby recounting the economic gains of the government and comparing them to those of the previous NDC administration whose elements, it’s been assumed are behind the fix the country campaign.
In the wake of this development, one would have expected the kingpin and spinmeister of NPP communication, the Assin Dompem royal and business tycoon the Honorable Kennedy Ohene Agyapong to step into the fray in defense of his party as he’s done on several occasions. However the opposite has happened.
In an Adom Badwan video monitored by afropolitanonline.com, the Assin Central MP, said: “… I remember the words President Akufo-Addo told President Mills, if the economy is broke, fix it. So Dr Bawumia the vice president if NDC has collapsed the economy, fix it”.
A lot of tongues have since been waggiing and some NPP faithful are silently criticizing the MP. Has the MP betrayed his party by the statement he made? Is his stance a genuine exhortation to President Nana Addo and Dr Bawumia to fix the economy of the country?
