Five digital content pieces featuring Olympians and Paralympians have been nominated for the renowned Sports Emmy and Webby Awards
The International Olympic Committee has received five nominations, including for an Olympic Channel original featuring the global #StrongerTogether campaign film that marked one year to go until the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 starting in July 2021, and for work co-created with Worldwide Olympic Partners Airbnb and Toyota, with Olympians and Paralympians at the heart of the recognised platforms.
“We are encouraged by these prestigious digital-first nominations, that recognise the work and creativity not only of the IOC but also of the many Olympic stakeholders who have joined us in supporting athletes and uniting the world as Tokyo 2020 was postponed,” said Christopher Carroll, the IOC’s Director of Digital Engagement and Marketing. “The unprecedented situation accelerated the integration of our Olympic Partners into our direct-to-people approach. We aim and continue to strive to inspire and connect the Olympic Games with people through our digital channels and social media partners.”

The Tokyo 2020 #StrongerTogether campaign film was nominated for a Sports Emmy Award in the Outstanding Sports Promotional Announcement category.
Launched on 23 July to mark one year to go until the postponed Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 begin in 2021, the IOC’s nominated campaign was aimed at recognising the importance of solidarity and unity during these difficult times and acknowledging the power of sport, and in particular the Olympic Games, to bring people together.
The Olympian & Paralympian ExperiencesFestival, created in collaboration with Airbnb and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), was nominated by the Webby Awards in the Virtual & Remote: Sports category
Olympian and Paralympian Online Experiences are an opportunity for athletes to generate income while they share their passion for the Games and their sport with guests. Many athletes also host experiences to raise funds and awareness for their non-profit organisations of choice. The Olympian & Paralympian Experiences Online Festival was a real moment to be present in the absence of the Olympic Games last summer; connect the world with the greatest athletes from home; and support them in their career transition or on the road to their Olympic and Paralympic dreams

The “What Moves Me” series features athletes from across the world opening up on their own personal challenges – sharing advice and life lessons that go beyond the sporting arena. Fitting into Toyota’s “Start Your Impossible” campaign, it was aimed at motivating young people to make a start on their goals – whether they have sporting dreams or not. The campaign has reached more than 68 million people worldwide, and has become the most successful branded series created by the IOC
