Sporadic gun fire filled Adoagyiri air as thugs of Okyeman Task Force tried to force their way into the principal streets of the beautiful and quiet Adoagyiri town on Tuesday 29th August 2023 evening to parade its clandestinely installed rival Chief Barima Adu Korkor II.
The disillusioned rival chief who had since his installation, sought refuge in the Akyem Abuakwah capital of Kyebi was being brought to the town to announce his administrative takeover of the town and its adjoining villages.
In the process, gun fire from Okyeman Task Forces killed a 53 year old US based Adoagyiri native. One Okyeman Task Force thug was also gunned down in cold blood. Other men who sustained various degrees of injuries were rushed to Nsawam Government hospital to be treated.
Several Adoagyiri citizens have pinpointed Henry Ofori-Atta and another Okyeman Task Force thug named Oboye as some of the men who fired gunshots at the victims.
Whilst Police officers patrol the town, it has refused to arrest any of the Okyeman Task Force thugs whose blatant disregard for law and order and sporadic shootings resulted in the death of an Adoagyiri citizen because an order from above has asked them not to make arrests.
The activities of Okyeman Task Force whose land grabbing activities in Adoagyiri for the Okyehene have been reported by the Adoagyiri Traditional Authorities and Kotoku Traditional Council on several occasions to the Presidency, National Security and the District Police Command are yet to be attended to.`
For now, Adoagyiri citizens are in limbo as to where to turn to and are in fear of when next the Okyeman thugs will visit mayhem on them.
