Three months now, after Okyehene’s efforts to install a rival chief at Adoagyiri was stalled and foiled through timely police intervention, there have been quietness and peace in Adoagyiri and its environs.

And just when everyone thought the skirmishes were over and his dark enterprises had been permanently suspended, the resolve to contend with Adoagyirihene, the Ankobeahene of Akyem Kotoku Kingdom, Afutu Dompreh, over the ownership and sale of Adoagyiri lands, has been renewed.

At Akyem Abuakwa traditional council meeting held on 16th June 2023 at Kyebi, its state secretary, D.M Ofori -Atta, informed its members of renewed efforts by Okyehene to continue the tussle howbeit at the courts of law.  “…Lawyers have been consulted on the subject matter and preparations are underway to drag Afutu Dompreh, the chief of Adoagyiri to a court of competent jurisdiction to prove to the court on how he acquired the land at Adoagyiri whiles his predecessor served Ofori Panin Fie as a sub chief of Akyem Abuakwa”.

A prominent chief of Kotoku who agreed to speak to afropolitanonline.com on the matter on grounds of anonymity, hinted: “Okyehene’s resolve is a failed attempt even from the start. He`will never succeed. We know of the things he’s doing behind the scenes in high places to undermine Nana Afutu Dompre and Kotoku kingdom at large. We are busily preparing to meet him squarely on every plane”.

An inquiry from the chief of Adoagyiri revealed that no court documents have been received from the Okyehene concerning the land under consideration.

For now, we await the battle and hope that justice would be served the good people of Adoagyiri so peace would prevail.
