A group calling itself Concerned Passengers Association of Ghana has chastised Road Transport Operators for being insensitive to the plights of Ghanaians.

Mr. Kwadwo Korankye, spokesperson for the group, in an interview with afropolitanonline.com, intimated that the current appreciation of the cedi against the dollar and other major currencies coupled with the steady reductions in fuel prices over the past two weeks must prick the conscience of the leadership of Road Transport Operators to reduce its fares by 30%.

Mr. Korankye seems to be unhappy with the proposed 15.3% percent reduction in transport fares as announced by Road Transport Operators in a communiqué released on Friday 16th December 2022. To Mr. Korankye, Road Transport Operators must be fair, honest and discreet and reduce the fares further to 30% for Ghanaians to feel the positive gains made by the government.

“We have given the leadership of Road Transport Operators the end of next week to reduce the fares further lest it would be forced to do so by the court”.
